Who Is
Melisssa Bosstick
I am a mother of 4 adult children. I am very proud of each of them. I love seeing how they have grown and changed throughout their lives. There were so many times I had no idea what to do, so I am writing this to help you connect with your kids. We opened our own business teaching martial arts over the last 20 years. I’m proud of having helped hundreds and thousands of kids and their families connect better.
When I work with families I give my whole heart. I want the best for them. Not every family is exactly like another. The children who come into our school are top athletes who are captains on their teams, kids who need structure and focus to manage their ADHD, and kids that just need to strengthen their confidence. We helped a family that brought us their 1st degree Black Belts boys that wanted to continue martial arts because with one of the boys it helped him with confidence and purpose in his life. The other boy is autistic and Martial Arts helped him with providing structure and focus. They were both taught great techniques. The thing that was missing was social interaction. The autistic boy when I first met him would not look me in the eye and when he said something to me without me responding yet, he would profusely apologize. Now, as both are now 3rd degree Black Belts the boy that gained confidence still has more confidence and has since learned how to lead and became a supervisor where he works. The autistic boy now can look me in the eye and speak to me. He has learned how to joke around and be a good friend. Not every new student comes in as a Black Belt. Everyone has their own starting place.
